Placenta Encapsulation

Placentophagia is the act of a new mother consuming her placenta after the birth of her baby or the many health benefits it can provide. Placenta encapsulation is the process of preparing, dehydrating, grinding, and encapsulating the placenta. This process is completed by a highly trained placenta specialist with training in both Bloodborne Pathogens and Food Handler Safety.

While the body of research to support placentophagia is incomplete, anecdotal evidence suggests that placenta consumption may lessen or prevent postpartum depression or "baby blues"; replenish iron from blood loss during birth and prevent postpartum anemia; provide the HPL (human placental lactogen) hormone to help establish an early and healthy milk supply; stabilize ever-changing hormones post-birth; and offer natural pain relief from the labor and birth of baby.

Placenta encapsulation has not been evaluated by the FDA and are not clinical/pharmaceutical or intended to treat a condition. Women utilizing this service take full responsibility for consuming their placenta at their own risk. Check with your health care provider to be sure your placenta is healthy and safe to consume.

Placenta Prints

The placenta, that organ which anchors baby to mother from its very first days, serves the crucial function of providing baby with all the nutrients essential to healthy development throughout the pregnancy.

A placenta print can serve as a meaningful visual reminder of the miraculous connection between mom and baby.
